Fire Police

The primary function of the Fire Police squad is to control both pedestrian and vehicular traffic at emergency scenes. The members of the Fire Police receive specialized training and they may act as New York State Peace Officers at emergency scenes.

The Fire Police squad is comprised of veteran members of the Elmont Fire Department.  These members remain part of their respective firefighting companies in addition to performing Fire Police duties.
